My keyless remote circuit board broke into 3 pieces, leaving me without any way to lock /unlock and arm the factory alarm on my truck. I always go to Walmart.com %26 see if I can get whatever I am about to purchase there before I buy somewhere else. At my local Chevrolet dealership parts house, the keyless remote is $192.99 (BATTERY NOT INCLUDED!!!). I found this keyless remote fob on Walmart.com after I typed in keyless remote for 2009 Chevrolet Silverado. It was priced at about 10% of the cost for one at the dealership. I ordered it %26 to be honest, I was nervous that I had thrown my money away because it cost so much less. It arrived a day and a half later %26 I compared it to my remote that no longer worked AND THEY LOOKED IDENTICAL! I had purchased a battery %26 my local Walmart for it while waiting on its arrival. However, after comparing %26 seeing they looked the same, I opened it to put the new battery in %26 found that IT COMES WITH A BATTERY!!! I paid nearly the same amount for a battery my remote(battery included) as I did for the 4 pack of 2032 batteries! Inside the package it came in was a card that told me a website to go to that would help me program my new remote. It took me less than 2 minutes to program %26 was one of the easiest things I have done concerning repairs on my truck!
Had I spent over $200(taxes and all) at the local dealership, I would've had to then purchase a battery for it %26 then pay them to program it because they told me I would have to get their shop to program it because it required “special computer equipment”! With my purchase thru Walmart.com, I spent under $25 %26 now have 4 spare batteries for it when one plays out in either my remote or my wife %26 daughter's car remote. I paid $12.36, tax included, for my keyless remote %26 $10.55, tax included, for the 2032 4 pack of batteries.
I have only had it for a couple weeks so I can't say for certain if it is durable or not, but it appears to be just as good as the one that came with the truck.
