This Deli Mesh Desk Organizer with Pencil Holder and Storage Baskets is made of wire mesh. It is black and looks to me to be powder coated so it will hold up to rough treatment. It has 3 Compartments; one will hold pens and pencils - one is perfect for sticky notes or a note pad and I use the third business card compartment for paper clips and miscellaneous stuff. I use this in my RV on the table. Now my pens, note pad, and glasses and small stuff are all organized and not scattered on my table and ultimately winding up somewhere on the floor. I was always knocking things off the table but this storage holder has put an end to all of that. Again, it's well made and looks very nice. It's not expensive and not sexy but sometimes a small thing can make a big difference. I recommend this as a tough, handy item to use just about anywhere. Buy several as I know they will make life easier and neater all around the house and shop.
