Swift, quiet, solid feeling multi-function laser
I've owned this a month now, so can't speak to reliability. It was not the easiest to set up--the quick instructions didn't work for me, I ended up needing to find the correct place to download the full set of drivers on the main Brother website--but from then on, it's been fast, quiet, and handles well what I've so far asked of it, if I keep finding the particulars for this machine (my first laser jet and a different brand than my prior several printers). Friends who have Brothers praise highly--particularly that the cost of new cartridges is not ridiculous. But I got the one that comes with the extra large additional cartridge, and look forward to not having to buy more ink for a very long time. Good machine. Happy.

I just got the Brother MFC-L2900DW and honestly, I'm really impressed. Setup was super easy — I had it up and running on Wi-Fi in about 10 minutes, and I can print from my phone, laptop, or even my tablet without any issues. It prints fast, it's not too loud, and the quality is great — crisp, clean black-and-white text every time. The duplex (double-sided) printing is a nice bonus too and helps save paper. I've already used the scanner and copier functions a few times, and both work perfectly. What I really like is how compact it is.
