It came complete with batteries, but I always use one of the 2 big brand name batteries, so that's what I put in it. This little dog is so plush, my grandson says it's ears feel like clouds. The colors are wonderful, he can pick a different color each night or the mode where it cycles through all the colors. We're very happy with this little light up pup. He named him Zippy. Zippy keeps the scary things away at night. Thank you!
