I keep extinguishers in everything with an engine, 3 in the garage, 2 in the kitchen (one of these and a Type K), and one by every door. I haven't had to use one in the house, but have used them several times for vehicles/engines/other fires, and just for practice and teaching others. If the gauge gets too low, use it to practice/teach. They still work, just don't reach as far. DO Remember to replace it! I say this to show that I'm certainly not an expert, but I do have some experience with these devices. I used to only buy the refillable type, but nowadays the disposables are much more cost effective. These Kiddies are easy to use, have a decent mounting bracket that is easy to install, and in my experience have a reliable gauge to determine when they need to be replaced. It would be difficult to have too many. For the money, I would highly recommend these ABC extinguishers.
