Shakespeare Celebration

Celebrating the recent birthday of The Bard 9may 7 - his first birthday in the new Millennium), the Royal Shakespeare Company commissioned works form ten of the best British composers of the new generation. Each piece draws on one of Shakespeares's major works for inspiration, and is performed by the Musicians of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The composers range form Oscar-winning music director of the Theatre - and composer of the score to Shakespeare in Love - Stephen Warbeck and Django Bates to Mark-Anthony Turnage and Oscar-winner Anne Dudley, who has written film scores such as The Crying Game and The Full Monty, as well as being a founding member of The Art of Noise. The music is performed by the Musicians of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Each piece is accompanied by a reading form an appropriate Shakespeare play, read by Harriet Walters and Malcolm Storry, both members of The Royal Shakespeare company.
