The last vacuum cleaner I purchased was about 25 years ago. I have used it until it recently quit working. I think the motor finally died in it? It was also getting difficult to find the paper bags to purchase for it. Since it broke, I have been using a non-electric, push sweeper. I was very appreciative when Walmart offered me the opportunity to evaluate the Eureka PowerSpeed Vacuum and give my honest opinion. The vacuum came well packaged in the box from the factory. The instructions were very easy to understand and follow. It was super simple to put this vacuum together. First you push the middle section into the main bottom section, then snap the handle into the middle section. Next, attach the bottom hose and put your attachments on the hangers. Very simple! I love the blue color that they used. It looks nice. All the yellow buttons are what you push. Simple to understand and operate! It is lighter weight than other vacuums I have used in the past. It is very easy to push on my carpet and floors. It also has a suction control adjuster on the hose that attaches to the vacuum body for cleaning different surface types. I like the comfortable, ergonomic handle. What is also neat about this vacuum is the metal handle is also the extension wand. On other vacuums I have used, you usually have to attach plastic tubes to the hose for an extension. The tubes are usually difficult to store and fall off the vacuum while sweeping. This vacuum prevents that which is awesome! You can easily snap the hose into the handle and now it is an extension. I like that you simply place your foot on the base and pull back when you are ready to vacuum instead of looking for a lever or release. I like that the power switch is easy to identify yellow and easy to turn on and off with your same foot. Unlike my old vacuum, I do not have to worry about buying and installing paper bags. On this modern model, it is an easy to dump, removable, clear container. Push the yellow button to remove the container, then push the yellow button for the bottom to open for the dirt to empty. Fast and easy! I never thought I would be excited about a vacuum cleaner until I used this one. When I powered it on, I could not believe how quiet it was. I did not think it would work as well as it did until I started cleaning with it. As soon as I started vacuuming the clear container started filling with dirt and pet hair, as you can see in my submitted photos. It started filling up fast. I did not realize my carpet was that dirty. Gross! This vacuum cleans great and has a lot more suction power than I imagined it would. My non-electric, push sweeper has not been cleaning as well as I thought it was doing. Hopefully, with all the dirt and pet hair this vacuum is cleaning up I can finally get some allergy relief. I really like that the handle swivels while going around objects too. This is so much nicer than my old vacuum cleaner! I like the bright LED lights on the front also so I can see where I am cleaning. The removable handle wand also makes it easy to reach above and underneath stuff like beds, tops of curtains, and into the heating and cooling air vents on the floor. The included attachment tools are wonderful also when cleaning your curtains, drapes and furniture. The included rotary pet tool works well also cleaning pet hair off of furniture cushions. The twenty five foot long cord is plenty long enough to do a lot of vacuuming before needing to find another power outlet. Overall, I am really impressed with this Eureka vacuum cleaner. I hope it keeps working for as many years as my last vacuum cleaner did. I absolutely love this item and highly recommend it!
