Poor design.

If you're 5'9" or shorter the most annoying part for you will be the lamp's height. When you use all adjustments to put the lamp at its lowest position and sit down to read on a regular height sofa the light hits your eyes directly from the lamp that leaves just sufficient crack of of that internal white surface looking you in the eyes. Makes me feel like a subject of interrogation. You can't shorten the stand - every end of its parts is either sealed and threaded. Lamp's head has only tilt adjustment, if you need to re-point it in the other plane you need to drag the whole thing on the floor - there's no swivel. Every adjustment, instead of friction control any position type has only a few discrete positions to choose from. If you need it for a work table where you stand it's probably OK. But not for reading or lighting a low coffee table.
