Accumulair Gold is an air filter designed with better air quality and higher filtration efficiency in mind. It is given a MERV 8 filter rating, which means that it is a medium-efficiency filter that removes airborne particles smaller than 1 micron. This means that it removes a large variety of indoor air pollutants, including dust mites, bacteria, mold spores, pet dander, pollen, lint, and smoke.

Unlike regular fiberglass filters, the Accumulair Gold filter uses electrostatic filtration, which is a special filtration media that uses an electric charge to attract and trap air particles. With a dust spot efficiency of 30-35%, the Accumulair Gold filter removes 20 times more particles than ordinary fiberglass filters. Even with high particulate efficiency, it manages to maintain low resistance to airflow. Accumulair Gold filters are available in many different sizes, but they can also be custom made to fit any desired filter system.

The construction of the Accumulair Gold filter is vital to the filter's performance and durability. It is constructed of 100% Synthetic material that provides excellent particulate efficiency with relatively low resistance to airflow. The uniform pleated shape is intentionally designed to maximize airflow and to enhance particle holding capacity. This filter media is made chemical free, so it does not pose threats of contaminating household air. Also, composed of hydrophobic fibers, this filter does not support the growth of microbes like bacteria, mold, mildew, or fungi.

The pleated filter media is laminated to a steel support that helps prevent bending and warping of the filter from pressure as air moves through the filter. The filter is then bonded to the inside of a heavy duty board frame. This two-piece, die cut frame is constructed of a heavy duty, moisture resistant, clay coated board and is designed with horizontal and diagonal grid supports to add to the durability and output of this filter.
