I had been looking at this indigo and gold leaves canvas on multiple websites for well over a year contemplating whether to spend the $80 dollars on it (I got the largest size), and after all the anticipation I'm so let down!
The image is not at all as vibrant as the photo here would make you think - it's almost like someone took a photo of the real painting and then made this canvas from the image of the photo of the real one rather than from a direct print of the actual painting itself.
The worst issue is the gold look that the photos here make it seem the leaves have. The canvas I received is nothing like the photos here - the gold is more of a muted yellow - it is not metallic at all like the photos make it seem.
From the photos here it looked like the gold leaf was shiny and applied directly to the canvas, like is done in so many of these kinds of canvases you see around these days - but that is not what it is at all, there is no shine or shimmer to the gold. It is a dull and flat light urine-y yellow color.
As I said it looks like someone took a photo of the painting that HAS the actual gold leaf and then used the dull photo of the real painting for this canvas. I'm attaching photos to this review so people can see what I mean.
The only good thing I can say is that at least the wood stretcher bars for the canvas are substantial and well made - for $80 I would think they should be! But I didn't buy this canvas to look at the stretcher bars on the back of the painting!
I'm so upset - I can't remember when a purchase has let me down more. I really can't recommend this piece of art at all, which is so sad because if it did actually look like the photos here it would have been such a unique and pretty piece.
For anyone considering this, there aren't many reviews out there of it and I wanted to make sure people were aware of what they were getting. This canvas is WAY overpriced for what you're getting - no handwork to the image at all. SO disappointing!
