Thomas & Friends Wood, Lift & Load Cargo Set

I think this is a fun piece for the Thomas and friends wood collection. I bought on sale for $28 and think that for the amount of train pieces and tracks, it was a good deal.

My son loves this set, which we bought to go along with our new figure 8 racing and turnout track sets. You really need to add more track to this to make it work, and irrationally I really like the new connectors though we don't own any of the old (we've used it, though). My son loves moving the cargo, using the crane and loader. He also loves having cars for Thomas and Charlie to pull. My one problem with this set is my problem with all these sets: there's just a lot of plastic. A lot of the buildings it special pieces have only a token amount of wood. For pieces with a moving mechanism being made of plastic makes sense, but there are absolutely pieces that could be made of wood and just aren't. The plastic mostly seems sturdy, there's just a lot of it.
