These lights are super cute, super easy to mount to fence, come on at sundown and stay lit until I go to bed (maybe not until morning, but pretty long). I recommend buying more than one set. They do not each put off a great deal of light. Think if you bought a string of Christmas lights and each of these fixtures represents only one light on the string. I have had a few weeks and I am buying more to fill in between the ones I already mounted. The light is in a little cap that fits on the top of the fixture, so if one burns out and you have to wait to change the battery, you can just pop one out from the end of you display and put it in a middle one. You wont have a burned one in the middle. Very easy. There does not appear to be an option to chose one color (other than white) to stay lit, so the colors will all be changing at once and not synchronized, but I think that is fun.
