Why Add a Stool Softener? Sometimes discomfort is associated with hard, dry stools that can be hard to pass. Combining the stool softener docusate sodium with the natural senna plant stimulant laxative makes passing hard stools easier and more comfortable. How to Get Relief 1. Choose any of our natural senna plant-based laxatives: Senokot® Regular Strength, Senokot® Extra Strength, Senokot® Laxative* Gummies, Senokot® Laxative* Tea, or Senokot-S® Dual Action (senna plus docusate sodium stool softener) 2. Take your Senokot laxative product preferably just before bedtime or as directed by a doctor. 3. Within six to twelve hours, you'll generally have a bowel movement.
