I formatted it to NTFS and hooked it to my Linksys MR8300 router as a network drive. It's been 6 weeks so far, and the reliability is good. I don't have a Thunderbolt port, so I can't comment on speed, I'm after reliability. I've been using Sandisk and WD products for decades and haven't had any problems, so I expect this to be the same.

This drive has a high quality construction that just feels solid in the hand while surprisingly small and portable. Even the included connection cables are thicker gauge with beefy strain relief. I'd definitely recommend. I had some challenges with mac OS time machine but figured out quickly enough.

Feels very tough in hand and feels its drop resistant and crush resistant Looks: Very modern design which is small and fits anywhere in your backpack Performance: So far have used it in various scenarios - direct with Mac and PC, as a NAS drive thru Modem and as a cloud drive for my media server - never felt slowness or latency in transfers or my media file rendering, can be encrypted, read / write speeds are 1050MB/s, 1000MB/s
