Masters of the Universe Origins 5.5-in Action Figure Assortment, Battle Figures for Storytelling Play and Display

Trap Jaw looks a good as I remember him from 35 years ago. PROS: His jaw is sharp and clamps down on anything nearby. The colors are vibrant, painted well, and have good durability during play. I like to bang them and drag them down the street behind my bicycle for fun, and this toy still looks pretty sharp (literally) ~ Amazing 16 Points of articulation, so he can finally stand upright like the stand-up monster he is, or in any one of a 1,000 creative poses. I LOVE this figure, and the entire MOTU rerelease. ~ CONS: Can't find this figure anywhere, poor distribution. And if you order online, its a 75% chance of it being canceled. Further as well, you have a 50/50 chance of the Carded Figure being crammed jammed inside a box, so when it arrives it looks like a crumbled mess. ~ Overall, I would recommend buying 3, and returning the other 2 if you want a CLEAN mint card. If card is of no concern, then buy away, you will love this figure!

Mattel did a pretty nice job of updating Trap Jaw. The belt material is much more rubbery than the vintage counterpart, and it clasps together nicely and stays on snug. The hand attachments interchange without any problem, and the mechanical arm enjoys all the articulation one would expect and want from it. The shoulder is even ball jointed! Trap Jaw shares a lot of sculpted parts with Man-E-Faces, and all of that and the updated joints look and work well. I'd say the Origins version pretty well maintains the vintage version's proportions and aesthetics. The new version would stand taller of course, but this figure is pretty much Trap Jaw. No rubber joints to wear out with time, either. Highly recommend, supposing Wal-Mart stocks enough of these figures you can actually acquire one. Good luck!
