Stand by your woman was the moral instilled in him by his grandfather, so Jared tries far too long to save his marriage and his beautiful, psychotic wife. When Jessica goads Jared into brutality and terrorizes the kids, he snaps. He has custody of the children and tries to put their lives back together, but Jessica, her new boyfriend, and her wealthy parents continue their reign of terror, sending Jared further over the edge. Now he's strapped to a hospital bed, reliving his past with a vengeance, with the help of a strange, old gypsy psychiatrist. She can take him back in time to the point he met his wife and choose not to meet her, but then he'll lose his children. There aren't many choices left, though, when people are dying, you're suspected of murder, and you're catatonic. You'll want to like and root for our protagonist, but, all told, he really isn't all that likable. He tries to be a hero and fails miserably. His antics, terrors, and demons hide within all of us. Sometimes they sneak up on us in our sleep--sometimes when we're awake.
