Don't machine wash the bed skirt!
The comforter and shams appear to be of good quality. I washed and dried them according to the directions and had no problems (except for a little fading of the purple dye). The bed skirt was a different story... After the first wash and dry per the directions (gentle wash in COLD water; EXTRA LOW drier), the white part of the skirt ended up with a bunch of holes! I would probably have hand-washed and line-dried it, had I known beforehand. Nevertheless, I do like the look and feel of the set overall.
