Expensive replacement parts

Found top hinge set screw angled and unable to remove. Manufacturer rep said screw should not be removed. I replied that I was not satisfied with screw in at an angle and concerned about premature wear. I requested the hinge to be replaced. They refused to replace. I offered to buy the hinge replacement myself until I was informed the hinge would cost 175.00 and over 400.00 to ship to me from China. This would have been 1/2 the cost of the complete door. I returned the entire door and ordered a replacement from a different manufacturer. Company needs to keep replacement parts domestically and not have to order from China. The hinge would fit in my hand and to charge over 400.00 to ship to me is unacceptable.

Seawin® products are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty, covering defects in materials or workmanship under normal use and maintenance. When a product is confirmed to have a qualifying defect, the necessary replacement parts are provided under warranty at no charge. In this customer case, the customer stripped a hinge screw. We determined that the hinges did not have a manufacturing defect, which falls outside of warranty coverage. For that reason, this issue did not qualify for a no-cost replacement. We’d also like to clarify that we did not refuse a replacement. Since the condition was not covered under warranty, the option provided was to purchase a replacement part instead. All replacement parts are in stock. Under warranty, qualifying parts are covered; however, for non-warranty cases, associated costs such as parts and shipping would apply. We understand your concerns regarding shipping costs and appreciate your feedback. For any future warranty claims, we recommend contacting your original dealer or submitting a request directly to Seawin Global LLC with the product details so it can be properly evaluated. We regret that this situation did not meet your expectations and thank you for sharing your feedback.
