I've been wearing these boots on duty for two years (3 seasons) and I really like them. They have more tread than the C4R which I've also worn (that's my only gripe with that model, great for asphalt but not great on anything else), but the tread is not as aggressive and robust as the S2V, which isn't really necessary for policing (although they were my go-to in the infantry). The boots breathe well, offer good ankle support, the foot bed supports my high arches and wide feet without hotspots, and the feel closer to the combat-style duty boot than that of a running shoe, which is what I was looking for. I work in a dry/arid area, and I'm not a fan of Gortex unless it's wet or cold. My first pair blew out one of the lace hooks but customer service dealt with it promptly and effectively. I doubt they'll last for 5 years, but they've lasted 2 and that's when I get my next boot allowance. These are probably going to be my go-to 3 seasons duty boots for my career.

If you work in corrections, or any other job requiring you to clear a metal detector, these will not clear. They are light weight. The insole offers zero support and is very stiff. I've had several different Rocky boots, and these are definitely not up to the quality I expected.
