1st in series with super nice packaging.

Many distributors and mints produce Chinese Lunar coins. The reason is simple, the Lunar animal cycle is a very popular one with collectors. If the coins are minted and dated to with the cycle, you know it will usually take about 12 years to complete the series. The Perth mint is finishing its second go round with the Lunar animal cycle after a successful completion of its first (series I) 12 coin set. The 12 year Chinese Lunar cycle generally begins with the year of the Rat. This coin emphasizes the # 96 (Progression & Luck) in numerology terms. On this issue, a rather simple but still an impressive portrait design of the Rat is used along with the "96" emblem. A nice touch with the silver certificate & holder.
