This is my second scupper cart purchase. The first was of a very basic H-design, not the most robust design, and it is falling apart 3 months later. It's literally held together with baling wire right now. I wanted a sturdier cart for a newly purchased heavier kayak. This was my choice. What appealed most to me is the bend and cushioning where the bottom of the kayak rests on the cart. This feature distributes point pressure compared to other designs, AKA is easier on the kayak. Double cross members was a feature I wanted. This cart gives every appearance that it will last longer than my first. The tires on this intrigue me. They are foam-ish. They will give when running over rough terrain, gravel, etc. providing a bit of shock absorption. The problem is the way this cart accounts for varying widths between scupper holes and my kayak's double hull design. No matter what I do, the kayak settles into a position where the left or right sits higher than the other and uneven stress is placed upon the hull bottom. Not what I was looking for. This would work great on my Lifetime Tahoma/Tamarack hull. I've got a new kayak and plan to sell it. I can recommend this cart if it works with your specific kayak. Double or W hulls are likely to present a problem.
