This is a quality cast-iron bacon press. My only problem with it, which was easily resolved, was that the press was not seasoned on the top side. I had set it beside my sink, and water dropped on it. I didn't dry it, and it rusted within a few hours. I scrubbed the entire press with a metal scrunge, then re-oiled it. I also moved it away from the sink. I plan to use the press to compress homemade gyro meat made in a loaf pan.

Slice the bread, slather with butter, throw it onto a hot cast iron skillet. Use this press to get the perfect toasted bread for your sandwich!
