This is a sturdy case with numerous strategic points to put padlocks. There are three layers of foam: two layers on the bottom half and one egg crate type layer on the top half. The middle layer is composed of precut ~1" squares that you can remove individually for a custom fit of your firearm and accessories. Of course its not as strong or sturdy a plastic as a Pelican Protector series but you pay over three times as much for them. The value for the money nevertheless is excellent.

I did some research and came upon the Plano AW2. To both protect the weapon and keep it out of the hands of the curious I found no better option. The case locks, is really well made and the interior provides a customizable home for any gun short enough to fit inside. It will also hold any accessories and ammunition though here in New Jersey ammo must be kept locked separately so a Plano ammo box solved that problem. I had Plano tackle boxes when I was a kid and I still have them and they still work. The company makes a great product right here in the USA. Fantastic product!
