The softness of this weighted blanket is great! 10 pounds is perfect for my 10 year old under 100 pounds. It's not the size of a queen a little smaller closer to the size of a full bed. I haven't had to wash it which I'm hoping I don't have to do frequently. Quality seems ok Not as heavy duty as a more expensive one but this serves the purpose I intended: a daughter who struggles to calm herself at night and stay asleep.
