J ohn burges, the elder, of Westly, lying sick in Richman's Island, in New England, 11 April, 1627, proved 24 May, 1628, by Joanna Barges. Alias Bray, relict and executrix. Besides his wife, he mentioned his three sons, Robert, John and William and he enumerated, among other things, his bark, called the Annes, with her boat, tackling and provisions, and what she had gained that summer, his whistle and chain, and all his instruments that belonged to the sea Barrington, 45.
