This is my second Yamaha cover, so I start to put it on the boat and then open up the ratchets. There's no slack and the ratchets they're open so the boat cover will not go over the back of the boat on the bumper cause number one it doesn't fit, it needs at least 3 inches of slack. number two there's no slack whatsoever. I went around the entire cover, feeling the strap and I don't know who manufactured it in the factory, but usually there's at least 5 inches of slack on each of the ratchets when you get these, there's none it's like they just connected it then it shipped it up and put it in the box. So it doesn't fit fit over the boat. my OEM cover had at least 5 to 6 inches of slack on each side of ratchets making it easy to come over and then easy to tighten. This might be a defect? If so, maybe I should send it back? Is there a way to talk to the manufacturer?
