Alabama changed the course of pop music history. Their mixture of Southern rock, country, and gospel gave them a distinct sound that, even today, remains inimitable. SUPER HITS documents the songs that Alabama made popular in the 1980's. Among them we hear mellow ballads "Feels So Right" and "There's No Way," as well as uptempo country rockers like "Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler)," and their famous "The Closer You Get."

Themes of love gained, love lost, and archetypal images of rural America are distilled in the music's lyrics. Period love songs such as "Love In the First Degree" and "Forever As Far As I'll Go" are both featured here. Logically, Alabama's homage to their home state (and their biggest hit) "My Home's In Alabama" kicks off this very worthwhile compilation.
