The Max 208 also has a gain boost feature, which uses Peavey's patented TransTube tube emulation circuitry.
Excellent Controls for Tone Shaping To fine tune the sweet bass sound from the Max 208, Peavey included a number of great features. This combo has a classic three-band EQ, to adjust the bass, mid and treble tones. It's also got a Contour button, which boosts highs and lows while cutting mids, and a Mid Shift switch which moves the middle frequency from 600Hz to 208Hz. There's also a Bright switch which adds 10 DB to frequencies over 1 KHz. Last, but not least, there's a very innovative Kosmos-C Subharmonic Generator switch, which creates harmonics of signals in the bottom octave, giving the perception of a stronger bass.
Solid Peavey Build Peavey's been constructing sturdy products for a long time. This combo amp features tuned, ported enclosures, housing premium speakers with DDT speaker protection. The unique design affords excellent high-frequency dispersion in tight spaces. There's two 1/4" inputs, one passive and one active. It's also got a 1/8" headphone output, FX loop, footswitch jack, and a 1/8" auxiliary input. In addition, there's an XLR output with ground lift.
