NOT Reliable, Deceptive - Unsafe for Reptiles

I really wanted to like this product. If I hadn't been checking UVB output with a meter and caught the problem, my animal could've been in serious danger. This at first seems a great alternative to regular UVB bulbs, and the UVB index seems good at first if you're scanning it - but after only a few weeks, it dips to dangerously low levels, and if this is all the UVB your reptile is getting, your animal is at serious risk of developing MBD (and you'll end up paying a ton in vet bills). What was supposed to be (and was originally) hitting at around a UVB index of 5 for my animal for his basking spot was not going any higher than 1.4 after only a few weeks. What is super scary about this is that the brightness doesn't look any different even when the UVB is down - so the product LOOKS like it's still working fine. It also happened to the ones friends of mine were using, so I didn't just have a faulty product. Personally don't recommend. Your animal's life is more important than saving some money getting an LED UVB vs a traditional UVB light. Maybe someday they'll be able to remake this light to last for years like any LED should, while being reliable enough to provide the amount of UVB your animal needs based on the distance from it to the basking spot, but in the meantime, don't bother. (Or get this light for just plants. Plants would be fine.)
