Hot In The Shade is a little different than KISS' average 80's album. The album includes the ballad Forever, the band's second highest charting song in the U.S. reaching number eight (Beth reached #7 in '76). Boomerang is on the album and is the first time Eric Carr took lead vocals on a KISS song besides him sing Beth in 1988 on Smashes, Thrashes, & Hits. Rise To It and Hide Your Heart were both released as singles and are standouts on the album. This is one of KISS' best albums of the 80's. It has more songs than their average album but that also means it has more stand outs.
