Easy ReUsable Filter

This is the first time I have used a reusable filter like this and I absolutely love it! It is super easy to make a single cup of tea and coffee with this Japanese coffee filter! I add the desired amount of coffee or tea and slowly add my hot water on top and my drink is ready to go within moments. The filter itself is really beautiful. It has a sand-like texture but is easy to clean. It also fits on ceramic cups as well as plastic travel cups.

Great quality

This Kyuemon ceramic coffee filter is unlike any filter I have used before. I have used several drip options in the past but this filter is completely unique. The ceramic material is rough and porous with the texture almost like charcoal. It is also very lightweight. They way you use this filter is to place it over a holder that catches the beverage as it filters out and falls into the cup you place below it. You probably figure out a way of not using an actual dripper with the filter if you have just the right size cup. This is a unique shape as well compared to a lot of other filters. It is more of a bowl shape which I think must allow for a larger filtering area. The technology behind this filter is called far infrared. This allows more filtration of acids and oils which will produce a smoother cup of coffee. I am not an expert but when I was looking into this type of filter I read several reviews that claim that the coffee tastes similar to heated cold brew. I used about 6 ounces of water heated to about 190 degrees Fahrenheit. I should mention that I warmed the filter first before I put the coffee in the filter. The dripping time was about three to four minutes per cup. I do not really know the right terminology to describe what I liked about it but the best I can say is that I liked how there was little particulate in the coffee. When I have used a french press in the past it was like you could feel almost a sediment in the coffee. I have not yet tried it with tea but it obviously would work very much the same way. I have also read where people use it to filter their water but I have not tried that either. I found that I put a good amount of water in right away and this helped prevent clogging. It is really easy to clean I just place it periodically in boiling water. Most of the time I just rinse it till the water comes through clear. Very pleased overall with this filter.

IT WORKS

Coffee tastes a little brighter with this, s o mething like when you use a coffee press. Works for both coffee and black tea.
