Sold on ASUS

Easy set up partly due to Windows 11 being easier to set up. Setting from the ASUS is pretty straight forward. Very fast computer even after loading most everything I use. I had to have a backlit keyboard and this one has three levels of lighting. Would be nicer if there was an indication when you changed Num Lock, and couple other key settings but my past laptop didn't either. ALL my past laptops were HP but this time they wanted a premium for backlight and Intel I7 for some reason and an even bigger cost for HD like this laptop has. Thus far the ASUS meets or exceeds my past laptops.

I was surprised at how great this laptop is right out of the box. In the past I've always found something lacking with my laptop purchaases but not with this one. The ********* nits of brightness works better than most due to the non glare screen, the Iris X graphics, and while not rated for outdoor use it works great in the shade, which I wasn't expecting. It's fast, easy, dependable, with a fast Wifi 6 connection. I'm not a gamer, so it's perfect for my uses.

Another win by Asus

I needed an updated mobile computing solution and I have an old Asus Chromebook that's still in physically great shape so this seemed like a good purchase. So far, it has been! Chassis is sturdy and durable feeling, it's not a heavy laptop but there's some heft to it that's nice. Screen is bright, the trackpad is huge, and the keyboard types pretty well. Numpad has a regular sized 0 and Enter, but it has not been a problem yet. Swapping between the arrow keys and numpad and letters has gone smoothly with minimal confusion or mistakes. It's not a gaming laptop, but if you're playing old/lightweight games it's fine. Swapping between tasks goes very well, and the sound is good. I haven't tried the camera, but it has a nice privacy filter slide. My only complaints so far are that 1, the keyboard isn't backlit, and 2 the battery life is not as great as I'd want. It's not bad by any means and it's very good for the price paid. (Sub-$500) I'll admit I'm spoiled though. No regrets on this, I'm happy my Asus fangirling appears to have paid off again.
