My seven pin cord would not plug into this

No matter how hard I tried, I could not get my cord to plug into the receptacle on this adapter. I had it lined up correctly I had the cover fully open but as hard as I pushed, the plug would not seat in the socket. It seems like it's really poor quality. It seems like it's slightly undersized. It was a giant struggle to get the four pin side connected, but I finally got that done. But there was no way the seven pin side was going together. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to installing it before the return window closed.
