the wire is shorted and doesnt work (both orders)

I ordered 2 of these. both have the same issue, so I assume its a manufacturing issue. the wire works if connected to the PC when its powered on, but when you reboot with the cable connected, it wont boot. found a reddit article which after trying the solution, which worked, I was shocked. who would have thought... reddit dot com/r/buildapc/comments/56e3vb/new_build_wont_boot_with_displayport_connected/
