You will need 2 of these batteries to replace those in the APC XS 1500 UPC. Since the shipping on theme is free, the cost x 2 is a reasonable amount for these 9Ah batteries. Beware the cheap knockoffs that are only 7 or 8Ah; they will have significantly shorter lifespan and will only save you about $10. No, I'm not associated with this company. Just stating facts. I hate companies that prey on customer ignorance; this company is presenting a valid replacement rating.
