Good Value with Some Rough Edges

I bought this guitar for gigging, and I think its going to do the part just fine. However, Ashthorpe loses a star for the work I had to put into it to make it playable. I had to file and polish the fretwires, and I may need to hammer them down a touch if the gaps get any worse. The fretboard itself was dry as a bone from sitting in a warehouse for God knows how long. 1 of the tuning pegs is just straight up crooked; it and another tuning peg are a bit difficult to turn and may require early replacing. The finish itself looks pretty good at a distance, but up close there are a bunch of scuffs, unpainted edges, and sloppy gluing. The action is a bit high towards the bridge; I'm trying to fix with just truss rod adjustments, but I may end up shaving down the bass end of the saddle a bit. Strings that came on it sounded bad, and I didn't even bother installing the included strings because they weren't vacuum sealed. Gig bag is very nice, the included cable is nice of them, and though I don't need it, I really appreciate that the included directions are actually left-handed. The included guitar strap doesn't really fit the guitar though; I had to cut the slits open more to fit them over the strap buttons. The sound and playability are pretty good once cleaned up and set with new good strings. Overall I can't complain too much for the value, but not everybody buying this is going to have the tools/experience to set it up properly. Straight out of the box, it 100% did not inspire me to play, and sounded pretty bad. I plan on gigging this thing into the ground, and will probably only replace it once its falling apart. For a brand new left-handed acoustic-electric WITH a cutaway, the price is hard to beat. I'd advise budgeting a decent pro setup though if you don't know what a truss rod is ;)
