The best!

Best shoe ever in 6E. Not sure why this shoe was discontinued? Only shoe I have ever worn that has fit correctly and provided adequate support. Doctor recommended and NB discontinues? No more 6E? Do better NB.

The last of the orthotic New Balance shoes

Excellent shoe! I buy two pairs at a time and alternate days. Fixed my meniscus and very comfortable! Too bad they decided to push "fresh foam" the new 1540V4 is awful!

Stability is what's important!

The roll bar technology is great. I went into a New Balance store near me looking for a new pair of shoes. I have a big problem with supination and I asked the salesman which shoes would be best for that. He told me that all of their shoes help with supination so I picked a pair of 1080's that were comfortable. Within a week my feet were hurting because there was no support. During that time I met a podiatrist who looked at my stance and suggested I try the New Balance 1540's. I had to order a pair because my local store didn't have them in stock. I've had them for two weeks now, my foot pain is gone and I can really feel the support. The shoes are a little heavier than a typical running shoe but stability is what's important. I will definitely be sticking with the 1540's.
