It is one August night in Rome. Carla and Vito have been separated for a while, but they have come together to celebrate their youngest daughter's birthday. It was not an easy divorce. Vito's violent and jealous nature led to a long and secret hell. However, the family dinner goes well, their kids are happy, and it could be said that Carla is too. At the end of the evening everything gets turned upside-down when Vito disappears.

Vito's search becomes tense and frantic; Carla and the children are desperate. There is also another woman involved in the investigation, Milena, who has been his lover for many years. The day the corpse is found, the mystery explodes into a thousand pieces and a suspicion becomes clear.
