I tried 2 different off brand ink cartridges and neither worked any where near the Epson brand. I donated them and hoped that someone would be able to utilize them. For me, I will never buy only Epson refills. It's not worth the hassle, risk or cost, only to be frustrated and unable to print.

I made the mistake of upgrading the firmware and the existing cartridges stopped working even though they were not empty. Epson plays a game to force you to buy their overpriced ink. These worked great, but don't buy more than one set at a time . . . you will end up throwing them away because,the printer rejects them.
