Pretty but rough feeling not soft

The rug is beautiful. The pink is more muted than it looked on my phone screen but I love it. It is well made and packaged well. The rug is thin but I was expecting that and was prepared to buy a rug pad for cushion. BUT the rug is very rough. It is not soft to the touch. I read all the reviwes and this rug even on other websites that sell this rug and no one commented on the feel of it. I bought this for a toddler girls bedroom and we lay on the floor to read. So because of the rough feel I'm sadly returning it.

Ordered the 8x10, packaging and sticker on the rug says 8x10 but the rug itself measures 10x13. Not sure how that happened because 10x13 doesn't even look like an option. Of course now the original 8x10 rug I ordered is out of stock. Walmart labelled and delivered the wrong size and now cannot provide the correct size that I originally ordered. Order cautiously and expect to return, the sizes are mislabelled.
