However, it all comes to a head one weekend in 2017, when Simon goes for a walk in search of inspiration and ends up reviewing his story in the face of Rainer's imminent visit. The subsequent encounter will highlight two antagonistic ways of understanding literary creation, as well as a possible solution to the problem of originality, presented in this novel with delicious irony and brilliant storytelling prowess.
