These magnetic vent screens were easy to put on our vent frames to keep our little grandkid from sticking his little fingers in the vent. He had actually cut one of his fingers on a vent at home and we were afraid of him doing it here. Although they can be removed, it will stop him from doing it quickly and more easily prevent this from happening. His parents will be ordering some of these too!

I just ordered a new metal floor register to make my room look a bit better (no busted or rusty floor registers), but I was also concerned about bugs still managing to come through the vent, or if I maybe drop anything that would fall into the vent area; I found this and it's just what I'm looking for. The bugs might still be coming from a different source, but at least I definitely know it's not from the floor vents. The cover itself has very strong magnets, it won't budge easily when sweeping, vacuuming, or walking. The mesh screen reminds me of the ones I have on my windows, and I'd say it's durable enough for its purpose. The product is quite pricey for 3 covers, but I think it's worth getting if you tend to get very clumsy near such areas of the house and drop small things. And just for good measure, before purchasing, I would recommend you get a flat floor register (not with lots of raised ridges) and that you measure the outer rim of the floor register. I was worried the the little adjusting switch (for opening and closing the vent) wouldn't fit that well underneath the mesh, but there is some looseness to the mesh, so you can still have those flat small switches underneath this cover.
