The Sediment Filter Socks by New Pig are weighted and designed to stay in place during normal rain events and under normal conditions. They will potentially shift in a downpour or during high intensity events, however should stay in the place most of the time. If heavy downpours or high intense flooding is expected and shifting is a concern, find a way to secure the filter sock by either using multiple socks, weighing down with bricks, and/or staking down. Staking works well if the filter sock is up against a curb and next to the curb is grass. Storm Drain Filter Socks and Inserts should always be monitored after high flow storm events.
