The $12 is money well spent. I bought it for my just turned 7 son (he is relatively short) because the Federer version is not in stock. The color pattern is quick neutral and my son loves it. FYI Here is the size you should pick: height(40-44")->21 inch racket; height (45-49")->23 inch racket; height (50-55")->25 inch racket.

I’m not a tennis player, so I don’t have much to compare this to, but it appears to be a great value compared to other rackets I came across on Amazon. My daughter loves the vibrant purple. After one use the white handle is showing quite a bit of dirt, so if you think that will bother you I’d go for a different color.
