How to repair

Jammed? I read the manual on how to unjamm the disposal. Did not want to wait for the tool and did not want to break a wooden spoon. I used a 1x2 in x 14 in piece of wood and was able to make the turntable rotate freely. It took a lot of pressure to do it. So, be careful.

Junk, do not buy a Moen disposal

Moen garbage disposals are absolute junk. Built house in 2022. Plumber installed in December 2022. Used disposal maybe 20 times and now it's frozen up. Nothing jammed in blades, it is just frozen up. Called Moen and they won't uphold warranty because I didn't register it. We weekend building a house, do you know how hard it is to try and track and register every little thing when you have plumbers/electricians/hvac people all working simultaneously. Moen will never get another nickel from me.

Hello Matt and thank you for the feedback you posted on the Moen website. The Moen Garbage Disposal Unjamming Wrench is not required to clear a jam. Once the power is off inserting a wooden spoon into the disposal up against a swivel impeller and begin to push. The motion of pushing the swivel impeller should allow the entire turntable to be rotated manually. Continue this rotation until you can rotate the turntable clockwise or counterclockwise a full revolution insuring it has released and unjammed. The Moen GX PRO Series Prep™ Series 1/2 Horsepower Garbage Disposal carries a 5-year limited warranty with in-home service. The disposal does not need to be registered to obtain the warranty.
