Lucky Luciano (DVD), KL Studio Classics, Action & Adventure

The all English version was shown on HBO in the 70s; this the semi-Italian language version. It's from an Italian director. The actor who plays Luciano is great; he was the mustached bad guy in FOR A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS. Most of the action is in the NYC beginning, with almost no shoot-outs/action when Luciano is stuck in Italy. There's the great non-action scene of starving Italian women eating sandwiches and Hershey bars while dancing with American soldiers. TV GUIDE, way back when, called this movie "verbose", which it is, but it still has enough interesting parts. Will probably always be the best Lucky Luciano movie ever made. Walmart is actually selling this dvd cheaper than Ebay/Amazon!
