Waterproof, Really?

I bought these boots a couple weeks ago to gun hunt in Ohio. Opening day it rained and the following day it snowed. They claim the boots are waterproof, funny how my socks were soaked. They were very comfortable, but the waterproof membrane there talking about is NON EXISTENT. If you don't mind walking around with wet feet, then it's a great boot.
