Solid bunk bed for some young squirmy ladies

We've now had this bunk bed for a few weeks. We generally love it and I would say for the price we paid it's definitely worth the value (hence the 5/5 stars). There were some very minor and hardly noticeable imperfections in the finish (we purchased the darker wood-tone), which are mostly noticeable because we assembled it ourselves. And I may one day replace the slats on the top bunk because our mattress is thicker and probably heavier than recommended. All in all it's exactly what we needed and expected and the functionality, style and price could not be beat (we checked numerous other suppliers/manufacturers and this one won out by a long shot). I love the solid construction and trust my kids on it. But (and this is quite a big one) our kids aren't super hard on it. If I had rowdy kids that I couldn't fully trust on it, I probably wouldn't get a bunk bed at all and/or would get something more solid. It works for our situation in this season of life so I'd recommend it to another family with similar needs.

great bed

nice bunkbed. sturdy has a few paint flaws. but nothing major. The bed does have gaps around the mattress it's not a problem for the 6yr old, but will have too use pool noodles or blankets to fill the gap because he's so skinny he can get stuck between the frame and mattress. the hardest part was finding a firm mattress. Don't go to Ashley furniture. I went to Mattress Firm, nice salesman knew exactly what I wanted. I spent 3 months looking on line this bed compared to some that were that were $400 and it's strudy, low profile and affordable. Bonus it can be separated int 2 twin beds. Don't hesitate it's a great price. Used bunkbeds are selling for the same or more and not in new condition.
