Eh, it's okay

I purchased two of these to replace sconces in a stairwell that were too fake-old-fashioned for the house and had open tops so that you'd be staring at bare bulbs as you looked over the upper railing and when you came down the stairs. WHAT I LIKE These sconces look a lot like the ceiling lights in the floors above and below the stairs, and I'm happy with how they are a better match stylistically. I also like the 3000k light temperature. WHAT I DON'T LIKE I was not very impressed with the quality for the price. It's just a piece of plastic and a little bit of metal — not sure why that should cost $130. I was very disappointed that the top is open, which you can't tell from the photos, and now I was looking down at really bright LED lights. I ended up cutting out cardstock paper in the shape of the top opening and taped it in there to hide the LEDs and that actually turned out pretty good. Last, the bottom of the fixtures, while not being open, is rather ugly — just white metal with some cutouts. I'm tempted to repeat my cardstock trick on the bottom as well. Note that these complaints about the top and bottom wouldn't be an issue if these fixtures were in a hallway or room instead of a stairwell.
