For an Attach to the house Mail Box- with a top flap and a lockable door to retrieve the mail: Packaging- tissue paper wrap 1 layer, inside plastic shipping envelope, inside plastic envelope. The unit is plastic ( not a huge issue because it will be on a porch)- there is No Back so it is only a front shell. Feels like a Dollar store child's beach pail plastic. because there was no rigid ( even a cardboard box) packaging, the top flap got slightly warped, %26 the sides got pushed in- so the flap does not close completely ( will be retrofitting a weight to help hold it down) I glued a disposable cutting board to the back just ( left the bottom not glued for drainage) to help , just in case we got rain under the awning. It looks decent, the price was super ( now I know why). I would be concerned if put in a location that got serious amounts of heavy rain, frequent sub zero temperatures ( or even below 20 degrees F)- concerned about mail getting wet, and / or plastic getting brittle. Being plastic, it would Not work well in an area where is could be subject to abuse ( getting pulled on or hung onto) which could rip then mounting screws through the mounting tabs or break the plastic if it got brittle. Unfortunately I did not take pictures. Expecting to need to replace this in a few years. Shipping time from China was ok- better than I expected with the Tariff and shipping situation. Cheaper than a metal one, easier than building one.
